Every character has their own unique Story Mode, with three additional side stories also being available, including a Reconstruction of the events of Calamity Trigger, just in case you either don’t want to pick up the first game in the series or if you’d like a refresher with the best fights from that title’s Story Mode.
Descend into the Abyss or Face Your Greatest Challenge Yet!
Continuum Shift Extend features a variety of brand new modes to engage with, like Abyss Mode, where you can pick a given character and descend through the levels of Kagutsuchi, defeat waves of powerful enemies, level up your stats, and try to survive until you reach the 999th floor, or even further than that if you’re skilled enough.. And who is this Captain Hazama and what does he want with Ragna’s Azure Grimoire and Noel? But with a plethora of new characters joining the mix and bringing BlazBlue up to 19 fighters, each with their own desires, will anyone be able to get what they want? All of the fan favorites are back, including the speedy Taokaka, the electrifyingly sturdy Iron Tager, and the city Major Jin Kisaragi, but now players can duke it out as Noel’s old classmate Tsubaki Yayoi, a sword-and-shield wielder, and Makoto Nanaya, a squirrel demi-human who packs a devastating punch; the mysterious and snakelike Hazama; Rachel Alucard’s Lycanthrope butler, Valkenhayn R.Extend not only adds a bunch of new fun modes to play around in, but the game also extends the other existing options! Plus, now players have the option of turning on Stylish Mode, which simplifies most of the controls, making for an easier and more accessible starting point for new players! Plus, if that endurance survival challenge doesn’t quite catch your fancy, try Unlimited Mars Mode, a souped-up version of Score Attack, where every character you face is in their Unlimited state and capable of handing you your butt in ten seconds, flat.
